Our mussels, oysters cannot be frozen our scallops and fresh fish is prime for home freezing if you fancy spreading out your feast.
Much of hake is caught in the UK but it’s more popular in Spain and Portugal.
It’s long round body is great for cutting into steaks or loin supremes. The flesh is soft but firms up when cooked.

Locally-caught Octopus is available for approximately 9 months of the year.
Typically they weigh between 3-700gr per fish.
Plain octopus has a slightly sweet flavour and is very popular in East Asian cuisine.
Gilt-headed bream are farmed in the Mediterranean. The gilt head bream gets its name from the golden band across its head.
This fish works well butterflied and stuffed with fillings such as pesto or dill and fennel. They are also great on a barbecue. Has a succulent meaty flavour similar to red snapper.

Sea bass is farmed in the Mediterranean which is more affordable, and offers sea bass all year round.
The fish is great for stuffing and baking or grilling, or pan frying with the skin on. It has a delightful flavour that stands on it’s own, but also works well with stronger flavours.

Poaching herring is the way to typically cook this traditional highland treat.
This small silver-colored fish primarily lives near coastal regions of the Atlantic and Pacific ocean.
Herring is particularly beneficial for its omega-3 content, and it offers one of the most concentrated sources of the fatty acid.
Plaice is easily identified by its distinctive orange spots, which also gives an indication of freshness (the brighter the spots the fresher the plaice).
It has a pronounced flavour like lemon sole and is great for battering or serving with rich sauces.
It is best cooked on the bone (with the skin removed), or filleted.

Fresh squid caught just a few miles from brixham are versatile seafood that can be chargrilled or deep fried.
Squid should be cooked either very quickly of very slowly or they become a tad rubbery and chewy. We can also clean the squid for you, please note you will get roughly half the weight back if we clean it for you.
Whiting are white, round sea fish, whiting is a small member of the cod family and very similar in flavour but is more economical and sustainable to buy than cod.
Its flesh is light, firm, lean, sweet and delicate but can turn mushy if cooked too slowly.

Red Mullet is a light-pink fish with a jacket of scales. It has a fine and delicately flavoured, white, textured flesh.
It is a great fish to cook whole and on the bone which helps to impart a deeper amount of flavour. Trident stock filleted and whole Red Mullets.
Skate fish is sweet flavoured with firm flesh. It has a unique texture when cooked and becomes off-white. The taste is similar to scallops.
